Issue Position: Bring Back Balance

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2018

In a state with such natural diversity as Oregon one size cannot fit all. Decision-making on issues like land use and water rights need to happen more at the local level, not less. More government control over our forests and water won't guarantee logs for our mills or water for our farmers and ranchers. Put more bluntly, what works for Portland won't necessarily work in communities like Lakeview, Prineville, or Eagle Point. We must embrace our resource diversity by allowing more regionalized approaches to resource management, land use planning and water rights.
